We look for special people when we hire. It’s not just the social work degree or background in human services. It really does take a person with a great deal of empathy to listen to these calls day in and day out and help people find solutions.
211 call specialists treat each caller with the respect and dignity they deserve.
I get strength from the callers’ stories. It makes me realize, ‘wow, this is a strong person’ and I learn things from them, too.
