What's in an internship?

(by Annie Caporellie, May 13, 2012) While many others would immediately think of the stereotypical errand runner, I think of my time as an intern at United Way of Central Maryland (UWCM) and the amazing experience I have gained. Call it luck; c...

United Way is the best way to give painlessly through payroll deduction. My small contribution each payday goes further through United Way than if I chose a few organizations to give to directly. - S.

I gave because I've been lucky. I have a job, a good life. There are so many people who need so much. If we all give a little it amounts to a lot. - P.

I wanted to share with United Way and give back to my community. - C.

I gave to United Way because I am blessed to have a loving family, good job, comfortable home, excellent health care and enough money to pay my bills. Many are not as fortunate and I give because I care! - D.

I gave today to help those who are homeless and in need of food. I have so much and feel it's the least I can do for my community. -A.

I gave because I am fortunate -- have a good paying job, home, etc. -- but I know that a lot of people need help. Giving just a few dollars out of each pay will not hurt me. Imagine if everyone did that? Even $5.00 a pay!

I gave because of the variety of services that are benefitted by my donation.

I gave because I believe in United Way of Central Maryland. When I give, it allows United Way to serve as my hands and feet when I cannot "physically" do what my heart encourages me to do in my community. - Lydia
