United Way of Central Maryland - Basic Needs

None of us expect to suddenly be unable to provide the basics for ourselves and our loved ones. But in this economy, it can happen to the best of us.

The important thing is that United Way of Central Maryland’s safety net is there to help catch those in need across central Maryland.

It starts with fundamentals such as food, shelter and access to health care. Beyond getting people out of crisis, our programs help them stay out of it and achieve a better quality of life.

To put it simply, UWCM provides:

1. Sustenance. We help people get out of crisis by funding programs for shelter, food, access to health care and other critical needs.

2. Stabilization. We help people stay out of crisis by funding things such as child care vouchers, eviction prevention and other supportive services.

3. Self-sufficiency. We help people achieve a higher quality of life by supporting initiatives such as permanent housing, asset building and financial literacy.

These are things we want for ourselves and our loved ones. By donating to UWCM, you give help for today and hope for tomorrow to those who need our support the most right now.
