If you want to volunteer your time, there are plenty of options to fit your schedule and interests.

First, think about the type of help you would like to provide. If connecting with people makes you thrive, volunteering in a place where you have direct contact with the service recipients – like a soup kitchen, homeless shelter or youth center – could be the perfect match for you. If you prefer more behind-the-scenes work (equally important!), there are just as many ways to get involved.

You will also want to think about the time commitment you would like to make. Be sure you’re not over-extending yourself – whatever time you can give makes a difference. Whether you want to volunteer as an individual or with your family, friends or colleagues, we can help you find the right opportunity.

If you want to make a financial donation, you don’t have to be a millionaire...or even a “thousand-aire.”

There are options when it comes to a monetary gift to United Way of Central Maryland (UWCM).

• You can choose to donate online and make a one-time gift or a recurring gift. You’re also able to give a gift stock online.
• You can mail a check made payable to United Way of Central Maryland to the below address:

• You can make a $10.00 donation anytime by simply texting JOIN to 20222 from your mobile phone, and verifying the donation by replying YES to the confirmation text. Your donation will show up on your next cell phone bill. Standard text messaging rates apply.
• If your workplace participates in a United Way fundraising campaign, you can choose to give through your company payroll.
