UNITED WAY OF CENTRAL MARYLAND AWARDS $52,000
TO ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY NONPROFITS

Baltimore, MD (April 20, 2010) – Thirteen Anne Arundel County health and human service organizations were awarded one-time impact grants to help support their work.

Those awarded funding were:

• Anne Arundel County CASA, Inc.                                        
• Anne Arundel County Department of Social Services
• Anne Arundel County Food Bank
• Arundel House of Hope, Inc.
• Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Maryland
• Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland, Inc.
• Partners In Care
• Sojourner-Douglass College – Annapolis/So. MD Campus
• The Arc of the Central Chesapeake Region, Inc.
• The Salvation Army, Greater Baltimore Area
• Y of Central Maryland

These 2010 county impact grants were awarded by United Way of Central Maryland’s Anne Arundel County Community Partnership Board, a group of local volunteers who help guide United Way’s work.

The county impact grants will be used for programs that support United Way’s community strategies around the areas of education (school readiness/youth achieving potential), income (basic needs) and/or health (family safety).
