WITH FREE TAX PREPARATION
Regional nonprofit partners with local agency to offer mobile assistance

Baltimore, MD (April 3, 2009) – United Way of Central Maryland and the Harford Community Action Agency are offering free tax preparation, and help claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit until April 11.

A mobile unit, part of a partnership between United Way of America, Wal-Mart Foundation and global nonprofit One Economy, offers eligible individuals the chance to file their own taxes and take advantage of valuable credits.

The effort is focused specifically on one-time filers who can receive the assistance of a “tax coach.” Focused on helping low-income families in need, United Way is committed to helping people maximize their income, build savings and establish personal financial assets – all which help ensure long-term stability.
