UNITED WAY OF CENTRAL MARYLAND NEARLY DOUBLES GRANTS AWARDED TO HOWARD COUNTY NONPROFITS
More $75,000 awarded to 17 organizations

Baltimore, MD (August 5, 2008) – United Way of Central Maryland is proud to provide an additional $76,000 in funding to Howard County nonprofit agencies who applied for discretionary grants.

These funds are in addition to the millions United Way provides to impact partners through another competitive proposal process. The grants focus on United Way’s emphasis on basic needs and financial stability.

Last year, the Howard County Community Partnership Board awarded $38,765.30. This year the awards total $76,000. The partnership board has also set aside funds to fulfill unmet community needs or to leverage additional funding throughout the year.
