You need JavaScript enabled to view it UNITED WAY OF CENTRAL MARYLAND ANNOUNCES NEW REGIONAL DIRECTOR In her new role, she will manage all aspects of community impact, volunteer recruitment, board development and community relations for both counties. She will also play a significant role in raising the financial resources necessary to achieve the organization's goals. Her new role builds upon her previous lead fundraising experience in Howard County for local businesses conducting workplace campaigns. Ms. Melendez has extensive nonprofit experience with a focus in new business development and community involvement. Previously, Ms. Melendez was United Way of Central Maryland’s director of resource development, and served as the lead fundraiser in Howard County. Prior to joining United Way of Central Maryland, Ms. Melendez served as director for the Women’s Business Center of Fayetteville, NC and as the director of marketing and communications for United Way of Cumberland County, N.C. Ms. Melendez resides in Howard County with her husband MAJ. Jose E. Melendez, who is stationed at Fort George G. Meade, and her daughter.
