VOLUNTEER TO HELP LOCAL FAMILIES SIGN UP FOR FREE TAX PREPARATION
The cost of professional tax preparation, high interest associated with refund anticipation loans or not receiving the full refund due can worsen an already precarious financial situation.
This tax season, the 2-1-1 Maryland United Way Helpline is seeking volunteers to help schedule free tax assistance appointments for eligible moderate- and low-income Baltimore area residents.
Appointment schedulers will help working families meet their financial goals by connecting them with tax help resources that can save them hundreds of dollars.
Who: Volunteers 18 and older with basic computer skills and excellent customer service skills
When: Two hours/week (weekdays only) during tax season from January to April
Where: 2-1-1 Maryland United Way Helpline, 1800 Washington Boulevard, Suite 340, Baltimore, MD 21230.
