- Fresh air. Many volunteer activities help you stay active and spend time outside. Soak up some sun and get a little exercise. Gathering crops at Harvest Helpers for hungry families is a great hands-on volunteer activity that everyone from toddlers to seniors can enjoy.
- Future volunteers. Volunteering as a family is a great way to pass on positive social values plus improve the likelihood children will volunteer in the future. Many activities are ideal for families with kids. Consider volunteering for Families Living United Stone Soup (inspired by the children’s story), where families all bring a food item and assemble meals together for people in need.
- Free fun. Volunteering is a free way to do something fun on the weekend – and an ideal way to keep your kids from saying, “I’m bored.” You’ll meet new friends and feel great knowing you made your community a better place.
Here are a few more reasons to volunteer as a family, or check out our Super Summer Series events from July 1 – August 22. See you out in the community!
