Bank of America helps expand the 2-1-1 Maryland United Way Helpline

Last fiscal year, the 2-1-1 Maryland United Way Helpline answered 103,617 calls from people seeking help with utility bills, housing, food, healthcare, employment, aging relatives, tax preparation and much more. Over the past few years, call volumes have been significantly increasing. Bank of America generously provided a $100,000 grant for the 2-1-1 Maryland United Way Helpline to increase capacity and fund two more information and referral specialists. Now, 2-1-1 can answer an additional 19,000 calls and help reduce wait times, helping more individuals and families in central Maryland become stable and self-sufficient.

The 2-1-1 Maryland United Way Helpline is a free health and human service resource, providing help 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in over 180 different languages. Need help? Dial 2-1-1. There’s always an answer.
