The realities of inequity: the pandemic's impact on working women

The pandemic shattered decades of economic and social progress for women. Many lost jobs in female-dominated industries or had to choose between work or caring for their children as schools and daycare facilities closed. And the health impact of COVID is significantly higher for Black, Hispanic, and Latinx women and their families.
In this session, local leaders with unique perspectives on barriers faced by working women discussed historical inequities that exacerbate the critical fallout women across our region are experiencing, the challenges the pandemic has imposed on women, and ways to support and build back this vital workforce.
