Why So Many Marylanders Can't Make Ends MeetThe Realities of Inequity
Before COVID-19, 39% of Maryland households were already only one emergency away from financial ruin— a 10-year record high—setting the stage for the unprecedented economic impact of the pandemic.
That number is certainly higher today.
This session is the first in an impactful series that examines what’s preventing hardworking Maryland residents from getting ahead, and what United Way, our partners, and other local leaders are doing to help—and what you can do to break down barriers to inequity.
Session 1 features prominent panelists discussing how United Way’s recently released ALICE® (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) Report and Benefits Cliff Study are being used to help people in our region recover and rebuild from COVID-19, and to break down longstanding barriers to financial insecurity and good health.
