United Way of Central Maryland and Baltimore Ravens Partner for Volunteer Day of Service

In-person and virtual events will allow Ravens fans from around the country to join NFL players to give back to the Greater Baltimore community. December 2, 2021

BALTIMORE, MD. (September xx, 2021) – Caw, Caw, Caw to action. Furthering its mission to provide what’s needed where it’s needed in the communities it serves, United Way of Central Maryland and the Baltimore Ravens are teaming up on Monday, October 18, 2021 to host a volunteer service day for the Greater Baltimore area.

The “Caw to Action” day of service will feature in-person and virtual events, allowing fans from across the country to participate in volunteer activities. In-person events, which will take place outdoors on October 18, vary from community and garden clean-ups to assembling stress relief kits and decorating kindness rocks. A full list of in-person opportunities, including locations, can be found here. Projects can be completed as a corporate team, family, school, individual, or however else residents prefer to give back to the community.

Volunteers can also pick up items at the Ravens Stadium to assemble “Cause Kits” via a contactless, drive-thru pick up. United Way will include all the directions needed to complete the activity, which can be finished and delivered at the volunteer’s convenience. Those interested in this opportunity can register at the following link.

“We have been able to build a valued partnership with the Ravens over the years,” said Franklyn Baker, president and CEO, United Way of Central Maryland. “The team’s commitment to our community is admirable and does not go unnoticed by our community members in need. The Caw to Action on October 18 is a great opportunity to bring volunteers together to celebrate the Ravens, and the work they’re doing in our community, by giving back.”

Virtual volunteer projects can be completed throughout the month of October and will allow both Marylanders and Ravens fans from across the nation to participate. Virtual volunteer activities range from writing inspirational notes for those living in a shelter, to taking children on a virtual field trip or creating posters to discourage littering. A complete list of virtual projects can be found here.
