Spotlight on CareFirst: Going Above & Beyond

Date: December 4, 2015

Bonnie Downing, United Way campaign coordinator at CareFirst, gets much joy from leading her organization’s giving campaign and being able to provide help for families in need in our community. The CareFirst team goes above and beyond every year to change the odds for many families.

Not only have they reached their participation goal, but they’re already very close to reaching their fundraising goal with a few days still left in the campaign. Additionally, CareFirst employees stepped up to help the community in a special way this year with United Way and UPS through the Delivering Hope campaign. Volunteers collected and helped deliver boxes of basic needs items to senior homes and schools to help low-income families affected by the unrest in Baltimore.

“It warms my heart that I get to come to work every day for a month with a goal of giving back to the community,” Bonnie said. That’s why Bonnie works tirelessly motivating CareFirst employees and bringing their campaign to the million-dollar mark.

Thank you CareFirst for changing the odds for families and communities with United Way
