Tell us about one of your favorite moments with Emerging Leaders United.
Back in September 2014, ELU had a volunteer event at First Fruits Farm in northern Baltimore County. It was my first ELU volunteer event and I brought my wife and 2 young girls to help volunteer. We ended up harvesting potatoes, which were to be donated to the Maryland Food Bank. It was a fun day of getting dirty and showing my girls that giving back is important!

Where do you work and what is your role?
I am a vice president, commercial relationship manager at Howard Bank. I specialize in managing our commercial banking relationships with our local business customers. I strive to help facilitate my clients’ growth and efficiency by listening to and understanding their needs and by providing great service and banking solutions.

How did you find out about ELU and why did you decide to join?
Howard Bank is very active in giving back to the community through United Way. After my positive involvement with Business Volunteer Maryland’s GIVE program and Baltimore County Leadership, I knew ELU would be a perfect opportunity to use my leadership skills in the local community.

What advice do you have for emerging leaders?
Giving back is important. Being active in your community is important. And connecting with leaders in your community is important. You can do all of this with ELU.

You couldn’t pay me to…
Root for the Steelers or Yankees. I’m a diehard Ravens and O’s fan.

What is your guilty pleasure?
Old Bay Wings and Union Craft Duck Pin beer.
