Leaders United: Leading the Way for Positive Change

United Way’s Leaders United is a powerful network of more than 2,500 people representing a wide variety of age groups, backgrounds, workplaces, and interests who are committed to improving our region. Members, who give $1,000 or more each year to support United Way and causes they care about, make an incredible impact on our communities, contributing more than four million dollars annually through United Way fundraising drives and Leaders United group initiatives.

Since 2016, Leaders United members have:

  • Outfitted 12 apartments for people transitioning from homelessness to permanent supportive housing
  • Together with our Women United and Emerging Leaders United membership groups, created the Holiday Pop-Up Market that provided hundreds of families with self-selected gifts and a holiday experience to remember
  • Provided families and veterans experiencing homelessness with “welcome home” kits, including the basic necessities needed to start a new chapter in their lives
  • Completed a much-needed clean in the neighborhood of our partner agency, City of Refuge
  • Created an annual event, Leaders on Tap, which brings hundreds of passionate donors together for an evening of networking and giving back

During the COVID 19 crisis, Leaders United wants to make sure local students can continue to learn and expand their education.

As classes have moved out of the schoolroom to online instruction, students need access to technology.

Sadly, many area families are struggling just to pay for basics like food and household supplies, and can’t afford the computers their kids need to keep up with their education.

You can help by providing a student (or two—or more!) with an Amazon Fire tablet from our Target registry.

Purchases from this registry—a collaborative effort with Bridgebuilder Cinematic Arts—will help students right here in Greater Baltimore stay on track to graduate with a brighter future ahead of them.

All devices will be equipped with the required programs and lessons students need to successfully complete the school year.

Make your purchase today to give a student a better tomorrow. You can also give a monetary gift designated to purchasing tablets.

See how you can help those in need access healthy food, overcome homelessness and navigate resources with your Leaders United gift.

Generous partnerships with local foundations match your donation in the first year and allow you to instantly become a Leaders United member.
